Normally, Makassar Merchant Marine Polytechnic enroll candidates who will study at the institution need to :
 Indonesian citizen and or foreigners;
 A degree from higher education majoring Mathematics and Physics; technical higher school majoring Engineering; and or a decree from vocational school.
 Maximum age : 23 years old;
 Minimum heigh : 163 cm for men and 155 cm for women;
 Good in health approved by recognized doctor;
 Good attitude approved by the tertiarry policeman officer;
 Unmarried.

 FACULTY REQUIREMENTS

Academic
- A degree of Senior high school majoring in Mathematics and Physics;
- A degree of Technical High School majoring Mechanical Engineering.

 Port and Shipping Management
- A degree of Senior high school majoring in Mathematics and physics;
- A degree from Vocational School.
